The return of FLY Open Air Festival at Princes Street Gardens has been approved by Edinburgh Council, after a successful event from FLY at Hopetoun House.
They're expecting 4,000 people to descend on the gardens in a celebration of 'youth music culture', taking place on September 16 and 17 underneath the castle. Since launching in 2016, FLY has been coming to Princes Street Gardens each year - aside from a few cancelled events due to the pandemic.
Earlier this year, FLY announced direct support that the festival would give back to the local community by planting over 50 new trees in the park.

Tom Ketley, Watchtower Group, said: “We are very proud to call Princes Street Gardens the home of FLY Open Air Festival this September.
"The festival was founded there in 2016, and our office is also based at The Watchtower in St. Cuthbert’s Kirkyard, so we walk to work every day through the gardens. We feel immensely proud to be able to deliver a concert for young people in such an amazing location.
"The Bandstand truly has one of the best backdrops in the world; upholding its beauty is of paramount importance to us, as well as supporting our community. Together, working through Edinburgh City Council’s Event Planning and Operations Group, we create over 180 event jobs across the weekend and bring in over £1m to the local economy.
"And recent partnerships between the council & FLY have seen the festival deliver the planting of new trees in the gardens as well as supporting a number of local charities each year.’’
