A unique Edinburgh bubble tea Chinese grocery store has opened despite not having planning permission.
An application to the City of Edinburgh Council was validated on March 4 to open a new shop at the site of an old travel agent.
The busy location at 51 Forrest Street is located just at the junction with Lauriston Place and Teviot Place.

However, despite the council only recently validating the proposal it appears the premises has already opened.
The Maycheelin store at Forrest Road appears to have opened at some point in the last year, and they already have another bubble tea branch at Holyrood Road.
The Forrest Road supermarket is currently advertised as opening seven days a week, from 11am to 9pm, and sells a wide range of Chinese groceries.
A post on Facebook announces they had already opened in October of last year.
It says: “Have you shopped at Maycheelin on Forrest Road yet?
"A fabulous Asian supermarket with a wide range of Chinese cooking ingredients, Asian snacks, groceries, fruits, vegetables and desserts.
"Perfect for cooking something tasty on a cosy night in.”
Edinburgh Council will now consider whether to grant permission to the grocery store in the coming weeks and months.
