A new hospitality and corporate entertainment suite aimed at boosting the matchday experience for cricket fans is being developed at Edgbaston stadium.
The open-air roof terrace is set to be ready in time for this summer's programme of cricket matches at the venue in Birmingham including the Men's Ashes and Vitality Blast Finals Day.
To be called 'Skyline', the venue overlooking the pitch from the South Stand will have partially covered seating, hospitality and banqueting facilities, a private bar, reception areas, live music and DJ.
This is part of a long-running revamp of the stadium which has already seen a new stand and plaza outside built while apartments are currently under construction next door.
Other planned work announced last year includes a new hotel, employment skills centre, improved transport links and public space to host community markets and open-air screenings.
Edgbaston's chief operating officer Craig Flindall said: "The development is part of our wider masterplan to further develop the facilities at Edgbaston and create more multi-purpose spaces.
"Skyline does that by giving us the opportunity to expand our corporate and entertainment offering to host more summer parties and outdoor events.
"The environment will be relaxed and informal where there are not only exceptional pitch views but where the food is plentiful, and the atmosphere fun and lively."
Edgbaston is working in partnership with Stadia by GL Events, Arcadis and Woo Architects which has devised areas at Wembley and Twickenham stadiums.
