Eddie Howe told how Newcastle United should line-up for Crystal Palace clash

Newcastle United continued their fine home form in 2022 with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City last Sunday. Now they are preparing to host Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening as their opponents bid to get over the disappointment of losing in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at the weekend.

Palace will likely make changes for the game, with Conor Gallagher sure to return after being unable to face his parent club in the cup. Meanwhile, Magpies fans have backed Eddie Howe to go with an unchanged side for the match at St James' Park, using Chronicle Live's predicted line-up builder.

Bruno Guimaraes has been brought into the team slowly since moving to the club in January but his match-winning performance against Leicester was just one of a string of encouraging recent performances and the midfield trio of Jonjo Shelvey, Joelinton and Guimaraes looks certain to continue. Meanwhile, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin are the preferred options to play on the wing, with Chris Wood ploughing a lone furrow up front.

The Magpies are aiming for their sixth home win in a row on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Palace have won only three away games all season.

Newcastle fans' XI: Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett, Shelvey, Joelinton, Guimaraes, Saint-Maximin, Almiron, Wood
