Eddie Howe has responded to talk that Newcastle United are close to signing Dean Henderson. The goalkeeper was strongly linked to a season long loan move this week but the Manchester United stopper remains at Old Trafford.
Howe once again publicly backed Martin Dubravka ahead of the clash with Burnley but it remains to be seen whether he gives Karl Darlow a chance this weekend.
When asked about Henderson, Howe said: “We’re not close to signing anyone at this moment in time. That’s far from the truth.”
Howe must now turn attentions to Turf Moor. A victory for Newcastle could see them bank a top 10 finish.
Howe said: “There is no let up. “We want to finish on a high.”
Burnley host Newcastle knowing they will survive if they can match Leeds United's result against Brentford.
