Eddie Howe hands three Newcastle prospects chance to impress including January signing

Eddie Howe welcomed three new faces into Newcastle United's latest training session as the Magpies prepared for the trip to Tottenham. The head coach put the squad through their paces back on Tyneside on Wednesday following a warm-weather break in Dubai.

Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes, and Fabian Schar were among the first-team stars missing due to international commitments. Isaac Hayden, Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson also did not feature in the club's latest training gallery as they continue with their respective recoveries from long-term injuries.

Howe has regularly given academy prospects opportunities to train with the first-team, with Lucas De Bolle and Joe White among those to impress the head coach this season. This trend was continued in Wednesday's session, with Remi Savage, Jay Turner-Cooke, and January youth signing Isaac Westendorf all pictured in action.

Striker Westendorf signed an 18-month deal in the mid-season window having impressed under-23s lead coach Elliott Dickman. Former Sunderland prospect Turner-Cooke is another to have trained in the senior setup before.

Newcastle signed former Liverpool defender Savage on a three-year deal last summer, with the centre-back turning down an extension on Merseyside. Jamal Lewis was also pictured during the session, having recently undergone surgery on a long-term injury in Germany.
