Eddie Hearn reveals theory over Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight negotiations

Eddie Hearn has revealed his view that Tyson Fury is continuing negotiations for a fight with Anthony Joshua in order to catch his rival 'when he is weak'.

Joshua has reportedly accepted Fury's 60:40 split terms as well as his proposed December 3rd data, with Hearn previously having admitted that Joshua believes that this is his 'only chance' to fight the self-styled. 'Gypsy King'. The fight is due to take place in Cardiff, with negotiations ongoing and Frank Warren revealing that negotiations are '90% done'.

Hearn, in an interview with DAZN, revealed his views and said that Fury's camp are so keen to pursue a fight now as it is a 'great time to fight' Joshua. Fury is the reigning WBC champion, meanwhile, Joshua has lost three of his last five fights including defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last month.

In the interview, Hearn also revealed that a contract had been received last week, he said: "We received the contract (on September 15) which we're now reviewing and going back. There's a lot to be added in to that contract, but at least we've got one."

"It's early days, we're up for that fight, we've made it clear – if everybody's serious you'll see that fight." He added. "Absolutely this year – that's the only choice we had, really. You know, they want to get AJ when he's weak, they want to feel like this is a great time to fight him.

"Maybe they're right, maybe they're wrong. We'll see, but working towards it and AJ will be out in December whatever happens. We hope it's Tyson Fury, but we have to see."

There had been talk of a unification bout between Fury and Usyk, with the latter holding the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, as well as the Ring title recently vacated by Fury. However, the Ukrainian has opted to spend more time with family leaving Fury with Joshua as an alternative.
