Eddie Hall knocks over table as he is kept apart from Thor Bjornsson for final face-off

Eddie Hall knocked over a table which stood between him and his rival Thor Bjornsson as the pair were kept apart during their final face-off.

Hall and Bjornsson have a bitter rivalry which originates from their strongman clash at the World's Strongest Man competition in 2017. They have exchanged fiery words since the rivalry began and will finally meet in the ring in Dubai this weekend.

The pair were kept apart as they came face-to-face for the final time after weighing in for the clash. A table in front of each heavyweight separated the pair for the face-off after coming on to the scales to weigh a combined 600lbs for the clash.

With a sizeable distance between them, Hall and Bjornsson squared up to each other with a cold stare before Hall quickly put his knee into the table and knocked it crashing into the table positioned near Thor.

He quickly walked away and was ushered away from further confrontation by security and his team. The Icelandic star jokingly remarked: "Tough guy."

This was the third time the pair had been involved in a heated altercation with the pair first meeting during a crossing of paths in the shared hotel gym earlier in the fight week. Then a press conference preceded the weigh-in during which the pair were held apart on multiple occasions by each of their teams.

Bjornsson was angered by comments made by Hall about his mother, which prompted him to throw an open energy drink in the direction of his opponent. The pair weighed in with Hall almost a stone heavier than his opponent, with the Briton stepping on the scales at 142kg in comparison to Bjornsson who came in at 136kg.

Hall believes his extra weight will be the key to victory and previously planned to come in at a higher weight to increase his power. Whereas his opponent has shed around 60kg to make his fight weight while paying attention to his movement and potential endurance in the ring.

The 33-year-old believes Hall may have made a fatal mistake by keeping on the pounds from the Christmas period. "I don’t feel being big in boxing is going to help you," Bjornsson said . "Why is Tyson Fury the best boxer in the world?

"Because being heavy doesn’t help you, he could beat me and Eddie no problem. Size is great but boxing skills, ring IQ, footwork and different combinations work in your favour much more than being heavy. I would rather lose a bit of weight to get my endurance and speed up.

"Having extra weight in my opinion doesn’t help you. Me and Eddie have a different view. On Saturday we will see what is better. Was it Eddie’s technique to come in heavier and stronger? Or will it be Thor’s emphasis on boxing technique, endurance and boxing skills that will beat brute strength?"
