Eddie Hall believed he could have beaten rival Thor Bjornsson with one arm

Eddie Hall was confident he could have beaten strongman rival Thor Bjornsson with one arm after injuring his bicep in the lead-up to their fight.

Hall made his boxing debut against Bjornsson earlier this year, but was put down twice on his way to losing a points decision to his bitter rival. The fight was originally scheduled to take place in September of last year, but Hall suffered a detached bicep in training which delayed pushed the fight back six months. Even once the rescheduled meeting took place, Hall admitted his bicep was still causing him issues but he was confident he could have beaten Bjornsson with one arm.

Speaking with Mirror Fighting after launching his own ‘BEAST’ range with the healthier alternative food and drink brand The Skinny Food Co, Hall said: "I'm not a man of excuses, I went into that fight with one arm and I did have Covid a week before but I'm not using those as excuses. I genuinely believed I was going to beat Thor with one arm, I did believe that.

"My coach wanted to pull me out and I said 'no'. I didn't want to drag it on anymore, I just wanted to smack him in the face. In all honestly, I wanted to fight Thor on the street because where I know 100 per cent I can have him, but we ended up fighting in the ring and he got the better of me. "I'm quite proud of myself that I rose above the challenges that were thrown my way to fight a man that size who had the same amount of training as me with one arm."

Hall ruled out another boxing fight after settling his rivalry with Bjornsson despite being offered "big money" to compete. 'The Beast' had a tattoo on his foot in the hopes of securing a rematch with Bjornsson, but Hall said his rival has missed his proposed deadline six-month deadline after outlining his plans to fight the Brit again in two years.

"I don't think so," Hall said of boxing again. "Doing that fight with Thor was literally the sole reason, it was good timing for me. Covid has just kicked off, all the TV production stopped and then I got a contract for seven-figures to fight Thor. I've been offered more fights with some big names for big money and I'm just not interested. Im at a point in my life where I want to relax a bit and spend time with my family a bit more."
