Ed Sheeran struggling to find words as he posts heartbreaking tribute to Jamal Edwards

Ed Sheeran shared a heartbreaking tribute to pal Jamal Edwards after his sudden death.

The death of entrepreneur and founder of SB:TV, who was the son of Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, was confirmed on Sunday and stars were quick to pen emotional messages of condolence.

Jamal was credited with helping to launch the career of the Shivers singer, 31, who took to Instagram to write: "I haven’t posted anything coz I can’t find the words, I can’t reply coz I don’t know what to say. Jamal is my brother. His light shone so bright. He only used it to illuminate others and never asked for anything in return.

"A stars light shines for millions of years after they go, and his will continue to light up every dark moment, we are all witnessing his power. I would not be here without him, professionally and personally. There will never be anything close to what he is, but I’m so grateful to have existed within his orbit. My brother, come on."

Elsewhere, Jessie J shared an emotional video video of the pair laughing and joking to her Instagram Stories, which she simply captioned: "I'm heartbroken."

Che Wolton Grant, who is better known by his stage name AJ Tracey, also took to Twitter to share his grief.

The rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer commented: "RIP Jamal Edwards, West London legend status."

DJ, model and presenter Snoochie Shy, AKA Cheyenne Davide, said: "RIP to Jamal Edwards. One of the kindest, thoughtful and all round great person. Gone way too soon."

Musician, singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer Elliot Gleave, better known by his stage name Example, said: "Can't believe you're gone. 31 years old. Can't find the words right now."

Dua Lipa also took to her Instagram to say: "Heartbroken to hear this news. RIP Jamal. My thoughts are with all his friends and family and the many people’s lives he has touched and brought together. Gone way too soon."

And Awards organisation Mobo wrote on Twitter: "We are deeply saddened to learn of Jamal Edwards passing. As the founder of @SBTVonline, his groundbreaking work and legacy in British music and culture will live on.
"Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family."

Tributes also poured in from stars outside of the music industry. Chelsea football player Reece James wrote on Twitter: "Rest in peace Jamal Edwards. I'm lost for words."

Jamal was a huge fan of the club and their official Twitter account also tweeted following the news, saying: "We're deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jamal Edwards.

"An inspiration to many, we're honoured that he was part of our Chelsea family. Our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved him."

Bafta-winning actor writer, director, and producer Adam Deacon, who is best known for his role in Kidulthood told of his heartbreak about the death.

He said on the social media platform: "Today I was on set when I found out the tragic news that my good friend Jamal Edwards had passed away and I'm honestly heartbroken.

"Jamal was one of the nicest, most down to earth and humble men I've met in this industry. He always gave me time even when no one else would.

"He was an inspiration and what he achieved in life was truly remarkable. Thinking of his friends and family at this devastating time. RIP Jamal Edwards."

Denise Welch, who worked alongside Jamal's mum on Loose Women, wrote: "My heart aches for my friend Brenda. I can’t bear it. Jamal Edwards was a wonderful son and brother."

And Amelia Dimoldenberg, the creator of Chicken Shop Dates, also praised Jamal, who received an MBE in 2014.

Writing on Twitter, Amelia said: "Jamal Edwards, one of the most generous people I have ever met. Someone who loved music and truly believed in all the joy it brings.

"Going above and beyond to connect people and bring ideas to life. You have shaped culture and changed the lives of others - never to be forgotten.

"Thank you for everything. You will be so greatly missed."
