Ed Sheeran sent a sweet message to one of his biggest fans who listened to the singer's music as he battled cancer.
Harry Hunter, now 15, suffered from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the age of nine, and would listen to Ed's melodies as therapeutic release as he spent months in hospital in Australia.
Upon hearing about how his music helped Harry, Shape of You singer Ed, 31, sent a touching video message to his young fan, according to Nine News.
"Hey Harry, Ed Sheeran here," the global music sensation begins in the short clip.
"I heard you were a fan of my music so I wanted to make a video for you."
As Harry watched his special message from his idol on his phone, Ed can be seen sitting on a green couch and wearing black sweat pants, a matching T-shirt and brightly coloured trainers.
"Thank you for being a great fan and lots of love," the dad-of-one can be heard adding in the brief news segment.
Super fan Harry seemed thrilled with the gesture from his idol, telling reporters: "It was quite surreal."
The Australian news report explained how the interaction came about - revealing how Harry's mother Tash initially wrote to Ed to thank him for his musical output.
At one point during his battle, Harry had to learn to walk again and spent 15 months in a wheelchair.
Throughout the many months he spent in hospital, the young fan would arrange Ed Sheeran sing-a-longs with the nurses in Queensland Children's Hospital.
Ed's sweet video message to Harry isn't the first time the award-winning singer has reached out to fans going through a health battle.
The star - who recently proved in court he didn't steal lyrics from other artists - surprised a mother-of-two after she was diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer in 2018.
Kelly Dimmock, who lives in Wales, was thrilled when the Bad Habits singer recorded a personal video message for her while on tour in Australia after hearing about her diagnosis.
"Hey Kelly, Ed here. I’m in Perth at the moment but I just heard your story and just sending you a message to wish you lots of love. I hope this makes you smile," Ed told his fan as he took a break from his touring commitments.
"I couldn’t believe it when my husband woke me up the other day to say my messages to Ed Sheeran had got through and that Ed Sheeran had messaged me," Kelly told Wales Online at the time.
"Wow, I’m so, so happy. Thank you all for the love and support. Each and every one of you that have liked, shared and commented have helped make this happen."
