Ed Sheeran has announced the birth of his second daughter. No details of her name have been given and very few people actually knew that his wife Cherry was even pregnant.
He shared the happy news on Instagram alongside a picture of a pair of tiny white sock in a baby's cot. The singer said: "Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x."
Ed, who is due to play three massive gigs at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff next week, keeps his family life very private. He and wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their first child, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, in August 2020.
The 30-year-old told Ellen DeGeneres last year: "[Being a dad] has actually given me purpose and something in life that's actually more important than my job." The singer and songwriter - known for chart successes such as Shape Of You and Bad Habits - is performing in the Welsh capital as part of the + – = ÷ x Tour, also known as the Mathematics Tour. The last time Ed appeared in Cardiff, during the ÷ (pronounced divide) tour in 2018, he performed to a total of 240,000 fans at Principality Stadium across four nights. Due to ticket demand for this month's gigs, a third date was added to his Cardiff appearances last autumn - following high levels of interest after two initial dates were announced.
