Ed Sheeran Admits He Is 'Afraid of What Might Happen' as His Entire Tour Support Suddenly Quits

Ed Sheeran told a Philadelphia crowd on Saturday, September 19, that he had scrapped his centre-stage set-up because he feared what might be thrown at him during the show.

The admission came at Lincoln Financial Field, in front of roughly 50,000 fans, during his first concert since every act supporting his Loop Tour walked away within a matter of days. Sheeran said he no longer trusted that a walk through the crowd, on a smaller stage built for the occasion, would be safe.
