I'm a big fan of Ecovacs robot vacuums. I have the OmniCyclone X11 running around my house vacuuming and mopping as I write this (it goes around and does its thing daily at 10 a.m. ET). So when the company told me it had a new model coming (it seems like it has a new one every few months), I was excited to see what the Deebot X12 OmniCyclone would offer.
It sounds like many of the core features of the X11 have stuck around, including the ability to climb, massive suction power and more. But it's also getting a feature called FocusJet Stain Pre-Dissolving Technology that lets it spray stains and treat them before mopping them away.
Whether this vacuum will become one of the best robot vacuums remains to be seen (and will be determined when we get our hands on the X12 for a review), but for users with older models, it could be worth taking the plunge.
What makes the Ecovacs Deebot X12 OmniCyclone stand out?
There are two big changes that'll really impact how this new model cleans: the aforementioned FocusJet tech, which applies targeted water jets to pre-soften the mess. From there, the wider OZMO Roller Mop 3.0 scrubs the stain away and cleans it up. The extra mop real estate should make cleaning more efficient, though I have to say the X11 already does a great job mopping my moderately large home.
The other change is to the suction power, which has increased to 22,000Pa from 19,500Pa on the X11 OmniCyclone. For homes like mine with multiple dogs who love shedding as much as physically possible, this extra power will be a solid upgrade for getting rid of all that hair.
For anyone (like me) who wants their robot vacuum to do all the cleaning, leaving none to be done by hand, then this is the robot for you. The company is improving its TruEdge tech to make it better at cleaning walls, corners, and baseboards.
It's also packed with smarts that automatically detect high-use areas (like the entryway where your dirty shoes trudge around) and prioritize cleaning where it’s needed most. This feature has been available on previous Ecovacs models, but it sounds like it's improved with the X12 Omnicyclone.

The Deebot X12 OmniCyclone is available starting today for $1,499 at ECOVACS.com and Amazon.
It's a pricey vacuum, but it has many high-end features, so it may be worth considering. Of course, we'll need to do a full review to make that determination, but based on the X11's performance, I'm confident this one will justify the price tag.
