New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced the voting dates for nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh by-polls that will take place on November 13.
The counting of votes will be held three days later on November 23.
These assembly seats are Katehari (Ambedkar Nagar), Karhal (Mainpuri), Meerapur (Muzaffarnagar), Ghaziabad, Majhawan (Mirzapur), Sishamau (Kanpur city), Khair (Aligarh), Phulpur (Prayagraj) and Kundarki (Moradabad).

MLAs elected to LS
Of nine assembly seats, eight fell vacant after the MLAs were elevated to Lok Sabha in the general election held earlier this year.
By-elections need to be held on 10 seats in the state.

Milkipur assembly seat
The Election Commission has not announced the poll date for the Milkipur assembly seat, where an election was necessitated following SP MLA Irfan Solanki's disqualification.
Samajwadi Party has announced 6 names for the by-elections while BJP also announced that the party would fight on nine of the 10 seats.
