A GLASGOW flight was forced to divert due to a "disruptive passenger".
easyJet's flight EZY3176 from Agadir in Morocco to Glasgow Airport was diverted to Faro in Portugal on Tuesday, December 10.
The airline revealed the aircraft was forced to land in Faro due to a passenger "behaving disruptively onboard".
The flight was met by police on arrival and the traveller was removed from the plane.
Following the passenger being offloaded from the aircraft, the Glasgow-bound flight then carried on its journey to the city.
It is understood it took off from Agadir at around 8.27pm.
It then departed Faro at around 9.55pm before arriving in Glasgow at 12.54am - just three minutes later than planned.
Since the incident, easyJet has warned passengers they take any incidents "very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour" on their flights.
A spokesperson for easyJet said: “Flight EZY3176 from Agadir to Glasgow on December 10 diverted to Faro and was met by police due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard.
"Once the passenger had left the aircraft, the flight continued to Glasgow.
“easyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers are not compromised at any time.
"While such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority.”
