Two friends have said their cancelled easyJet flight meant they missed a wedding and a baby scan. The pair, who had gone to watch the Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers, also said they lost a day's pay after the last-minute cancellation of flight EZY6010 frrom Faro in Portugal to Bristol on Thursday, May 19.
Self-employed barber Declan Lally, 29, and his friend Richard, 28, both from Helensburgh in Scotland, had flown to Portugal from Dublin and Glasgow on a Ryanair flight but were travelling back with easyJet, Bristol Live reports. The game was being played in Seville, Spain, and the friends arrived in Faro on Monday night, before getting a bus to Seville on Tuesday.
The pair then got a taxi from Seville to Faro on their return home on Thursday, and arrived at the airport in plenty of time at 6pm for their flight at 10pm. Declan says he was told by airport staff that the return flight would be delayed by 10 minutes and he was checked in and went through security.
