Plenty of New Year resolutions include the words ‘getting fitter’, although for many, interest wanes after a few weeks.
An airline, though, has come up with some flying-inspired exercise routines to help keep holidaymakers trim and assist them as they attempt to keep in shape in January. EasyJet has created a series of free online exercise classes, entitled ‘Travel Bag Body Blast’, in which gym equipment and weights are swapped for cabin bag hand luggage.
The new exercise plan is based on the daily routine of the cabin crew who get their 10,000 steps in each day. On average they clock up half-a-million steps a year on the job, or 700 miles – the equivalent of walking from London to Barcelona. And participants can expect to tackle intriguing routines such as ‘Landing Lunges’, ‘Cloud Climbers’, ‘The Pilot’s Press’, ‘Suitcase Squats’ and ‘38,000 feet’ – you can catch their unique exercises, which were devised by cabin crew in consultation with professional personal trainer Aimee Corry, here: https://vimeo.com/782497308/44c0955528.
