Easter flight cancellations up 428% compared to pre-pandemic levels

Brits heading on holidays this Easter have faced chaotic scenes at airports, as staff shortages caused by Covid continue to lead to hours-long queues.

Airlines including easyJet and British Airways have also been impacted by staff sickness, causing a wave of cancellations during one of the peak holiday seasons.

In fact, new data from aviation analytics firm Cirium has found that over 1,236 flights in the UK have been cancelled by airlines between March 28 and April 12 - a 428% increase when compared to the same period in 2019.
