Michigan Man Stabbed Over “Egg Placement” At Elementary School Easter Egg Hunt

Trigger warning: mentions of violence, crime

An argument over an Easter egg hunt at a Michigan elementary school on Sunday (March 24) morning ended in a stabbing and an arrest for aggravated assault.

Sheriff’s deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were called to Valley View Elementary in Springfield, outside of Battle Creek, after a man and his female partner got into a disagreement over the placement of Easter eggs for an activity that would take place later that day, according to a media release.

When they arrived at the scene, deputies saw the 36-year-old man wielding a knife.

It’s believed the man injured a relative who tried to intervene during the argument.

Deputies convinced the suspect to drop the knife and placed him into custody, authorities said.

“The victim was treated on scene for some minor lacerations and is expected to make a full recovery,” the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.

Police said that the violent attack took place before the children arrived for the egg hunt activity. No other injuries were reported.

“The world needs anger management classes,” someone commented
