EastEnders may be teasing what leads to Cindy Beale's return to the BBC soap, in new spoilers.
The character was revealed to be making a comeback over 20 years on from being killed off off-screen, while EastEnders has yet to officially confirm the news.
The Mirror revealed that actress Michelle Connor would be reprising her role for the first time since the 90s, after another publication leaked the top secret storyline which was meant to be kept under wraps.
No details have been shared by the BBC soap as to what leads to the character coming back, while it's thought she will return with her ex Ian Beale.
Now, new spoilers may have set up the path of Cindy's return and may have shed light on why she comes back.
Amid viewers becoming convinced that the former soap villain is linked to the new family the Knights, new teasers reveal a big wedding is on the way.
Ian's mother Kathy Beale, who also faked her death in the past, is set to tie the knot with fiancé Rocky in the coming weeks.
Next week, spoilers reveal Kathy is keen to finalise the wedding plans, and it's up to Rocky and Kathy's grandson Bobby Beale to sort out who is and isn't attending.
Kathy makes decisions about who she wants at her wedding, which will no doubt include her son Ian, Bobby's dad.
Rocky starts making calls, hopeful to get Kathy the guests she wants at their wedding and he enlists the help of Bobby.
So if Ian does manage to make the wedding, considering he's apparently returning with Cindy does this mean this will be what brings her back to Walford?
While no details have been revealed or even teased about the comeback or the wedding, perhaps the wedding is the perfect set-up to see Cindy return.
Kathy must want her son there, while she has no idea about Cindy being alive it would seem.
So if Rocky and Bobby convince Ian to head back home for the ceremony, will this be the moment Cindy also heads to Walford?
There's nothing to suggest this will be the case, but there would no doubt be fireworks if it did happen!
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
