EastEnders viewers were left horrified after Lily had some brutal words to Whitney after the tragic loss of her baby.
Viewers have been watching Whitney Dean struggle with the loss of her baby girl called Peach - who she shared with Zack - after discovering the little one had been diagnosed with Edwards’ Syndrome.
In heartbreaking scenes, Whitney and Zack bid an emotional farewell to their little girl, before being given the upsetting news that because she died before a certain number of weeks, it meant there would no birth certificate.
Whitney was also told she needed to return to work and couldn't receive paid time off for her bereavement because of the baby's age. As she continues to struggle, Whitney is also having to see Lily Slater, 12, prepare for the arrival of her own child.
During last night's episode, viewers were horrified by Lily's comment to Whitney after an argument between the two turned heated. Lily had had a health scare and was rushed to hospital as a result, but when they returned home, Whitney had some words of warning for Lily as she encouraged her to keep a close eye on the health of the baby and look after herself too.
Whitney also told Stacey that Lily was "outside acting like a normal teenager".
It was then that viewers were left shocked when a fuming Lily shouted: "Just because your baby died doesn't mean mine will!"
Viewers were horrified by Lily's comment and rushed to Twitter, with one writing: "Oh dear Lily telling her auntie Whitney just because your baby died doesn’t mean mine will, then quickly said she didn’t mean it. Poor whitney #EastEnders."
"Sorry but there’s no coming back from that comment Lily said to Whitney #eastenders," a second added, whilst a third wrote: "Lily that was nasty what you said to Whitney. Think before you speak.
"You might be a kid but you know what’s right and what’s wrong #EastEnders." Another shared: "Lily needed a reality check. Whitney was just trying to be helpful and make Lily understand that being a mum is harder then she thinks it's going to be. #EastEnders."
