EastEnders' Lola Pearce will discover worrying news at the hospital next week, as her health deteriorates amid her brain tumour battle.
The character's loved ones begin to notice some alarming symptoms and advise her to speak to a doctor, with Lola told late last year that her tumour is inoperable and she will die.
Lola begins to zone out during moments with her family and it happens a few times in scenes to air next week.
Eventually Lola goes to the hospital and reveals all, with her soon learning some worrying news from the doctor.
It all begins when Lola's daughter Lexi is concerned by her zoning out during a conversation, and Lola refuses to get checked over.
She instead pours all her energy into a brain tumour awareness fundraiser until she zones out again, so Jay insists they go to the hospital.
Lexi, meanwhile, calls Lola's mother Emma and tells her to visit as she is worried about her mum.
Lola is stunned to find this out and to learn Emma secretly gave Lexi her number, but soon forgives her.
Meanwhile Jay is left furious over Emma's encouragement with Lola and her decision making, sparking a rift between them as they both want to help her.
Later in the week, Emma accompanies Lola to the hospital where the doctor has some worrying news to share after learning about Lola's new symptoms.
Towards the end of the week she heads back in for an MRI, and a terrified Lola shares a deep, painful conversation about what’s happening with husband Jay - but what have the doctors revealed?
It comes after the biggest clue yet that Lola will die this year, and will not see another Christmas.
A special flashforward clip in February confirmed a scene from Christmas Day 2023, with a murder set to take place.
A male character was laying dead on the floor while their identity was not known - and it seemed he had been murdered.
Six female characters featured in the clip with them all said to be suspects. The women included Suki Panesar, Denise Fox, Linda Carter, Kathy Beale, Stacey Slater and Sharon Watts.
Nothing has been confirmed about the storyline yet, but fans were distracted by the clip after noticing a photo in a frame on the bar of The Queen Vic.
The photo was of Lola, and it appeared to be a tribute to her amid a mystery wedding.
Viewers realised that the picture of the character must mean she has died by this point, appearing to confirm she will sadly pass away at some point this year and before Christmas.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
