EastEnders' Stuart Highway refuses lifesaving cancer treatment next week as he receives some devastating news.
Stuart - played by Ricky Champ - has been battling breast cancer for some time now, but he is set to get some awful news next week as his health deteriorates. However, he's still adamant that he doesn't want to have medical treatment.
He is in regular contact with Warren, who is selling him expensive supplements, but when Rainie and Callum try to convince him to look towards more traditional medicine and head to his hospital appointment, he isn't keen.
EastEnders spoilers reveal Stuart is dealt some tragic news next week.
Callum is furious with Stuart, as he continues to prioritise the supplements over hospital treatment, but Stuart refuses to see the problem. Rainie is left feeling even more stressed as she wonders where Bernie might be, worried she has already given birth.
With Rainie so stressed and upset, Callum thinks this is the perfect hook to get Stuart to go and see a doctor and begs Stuart to seek help from someone who is professionally medically trained.
However, the doctor reveals some devastating news - Stuart's cancer has grown and he needs urgent treatment. When they get home, he is still determined to keep with the holistic approach.
Things switch up for the couple as Bernie, heavily pregnant, returns and Rainie is thrilled that she is planning to still give them the baby. She's keen on getting the money as soon as possible after the little one arrives.
But when she finds out about Stuart's cancer, how does she react?
Back in January, Stuart heartbreakingly told Rainie he was battling cancer.
"I'm so sorry, darling. I think I thought, if I didn't, maybe it'd stop it from happening. I just don't want to leave you and I don't want you to leave me," he said as he broke down in tears, with Sonia watching on.
Sonia had been supporting Stuart through his diagnosis, which he had been hiding from his wife.
Actor Ricky Champ previously spoke of the importance of the storyline.
"I feel honoured to be trusted with such an important storyline. We will see Stuart really struggle with the fact he has cancer, and to learn that it’s breast cancer is really difficult for him to understand," he said, "I hope by shedding a light on male breast cancer, more men will be aware of it and seek out a doctor if they notice anything wrong."
