EastEnders star Heather Peace has teased what fans can expect from Eve and Suki's blossoming romance going forward.
The pair finally admitted their feelings to one another recently, but Suki ( Balvinder Sopal ) is still struggling with her sexuality and how the romance would be accepted by those around her. Eve (Heather Peace) has seen her relationship with Suki build and build over the past few weeks, delighting viewers as the pair - who were initially arch enemies - finally succumbed to their feelings.
However, they are set for some drama ahead as Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) is out of prison and back on the Square with some big news of his own. What will be in store for Eve and Suki going forward?
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards, Heather Peace - who plays Eve - explained how there could be drama ahead for the duo as they try to navigate their new romance whilst Nish causes havoc for the Panesars.
"It's two strong women. Eve won't take any c**p from her and sees right through it. She isn't scared of her; there's nothing she could do. Eve's a protector," Heather shared of her character's role in the show and the pair's relationship.
"To play a love story has been great. Women of a certain age don't just jump into bed together. It's a meeting of souls."
Heather describes Eve and Suki as having a "magnetic connection" they can't get away from.
"The writers have absolutely gifted us with it. From the moment we started it, Bal and I were adamant it would be a love story. It's two souls connecting and a magnetic connection they can't get away from," she added.
Eve has caused quite a conundrum for Suki since she stepped onto the Square as a friend of Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). With another new arrival, Suki's ex-husband Nish Panesar, back too, Heather insists Eve is willing to wait for Suki for as long as it takes.
She teased some possible drama between the three of them, as she added: "I think she's cleverer than that. She will sit back. The pair of them have waited long enough. The love between them is real. You hit the age I'm at and you're happy to sit back.
"We're not out clubbing and picking someone up. She knows who Suki is. I think she's going to be around for the long haul."
