Rose Ayling-Ellis has been left gutted by Maddy Hill's EastEnders exit, telling her co-star she's "missing her already," after her final scenes aired on Thursday night.
And, while Rose paid tribute to Maddy, fans hit out producers for giving her an 'underwhelming' exit.
Reigning Strictly champion Rose took some time off the long-running BBC soap as she danced her way to ballroom glory last year, but has once again been back at the heart of the action on Albert Square in recent months, sharing plenty of scenes with Maddy, who played her on-screen half sister Nancy Carter.
Still in charge of the iconic Queen Vic pub, The Carters have had their fair share of drama over the last few weeks, with Linda wrongly thinking she'd crashed her car whilst drunk, putting her own life and that of baby daughter Annie at risk. With Linda in hospital in a coma, EastEnders viewers who knew Janine was actually behind the wheel, willed Linda to get better so the truth could be exposed.

Before her mum came out of hospital, Nancy was dealt another blow after finding out boyfriend Zack had cheated on her with Sam Mitchell. And in Thursday's episode, fans saw Nancy, upset by both Linda and Zack's actions, decide to leave the Square.
As credits rolled, scores of viewers took to Twitter, upset that Maddy had quit the soap again and Rose took to her Instagram story to post a picture of the two actresses together, telling Maddie: "Love you! Best on-screen sister, I'm already missing you loads."
Rose, who won Strictly 2021 with Giovanni Pernice, then shared on of her memorable scenes with Maddy, as fans continued to have their say over her exit.
One tweeted: "Bit of an underwhelming exit for Nancy, can understand how when actors say they don't want to leave in the back of a black cab," and another wrote: "Waittt Nancy actually has left the square, She didn’t get the song at the end, thought that was the rule when people leave."
