EastEnders star Dayle Hudson has shared news of a new acting role with his fans following his exit from Albert Square.
The actor was working as a bricklayer when he joined the soap as Peter Beale in 2019, but has told his followers on social media that he will now be turning his acting chops to the Panto stage this winter.
Dayle is in rehearsals for a run of shows, which will see him star at Norwich Theatre alongside fellow former soap star Joe Tracini, who played Dennis Savage on Hollyoaks.
A message on Dayle’s Instagram page said today: “First week of Panto rehearsals = complete. It's not long now until it's on stage, so hurry and get your tickets!”
The soap star was the seventh actor to play Ian Beale's unlucky son after Ben Hardy left the role in 2015 to pursue a career in Hollywood.
Dayle left Walford earlier this year after Peter was betrayed by mum Kathy and realised he had no future where he grew up.
Dayle said when he first joined: “I am really grateful and excited to have the opportunity to work on such an institution of British television, alongside some incredible actors.
Executive Producer at EastEnders Jon Sen added: “As soon as I met Dayle, I knew he’d be the one to bring Peter Beale back to Walford.
“Peter’s a young man with a big heart but a bruised soul and Dayle’s a talented actor who captures his complexity perfectly.
“I welcome him to the company and can’t wait to start working with him.”
This comes after Charlie Brooks became the latest star set to exit EastEnders.
The evil and manipulative Janine Butcher will be leaving Albert Square in a huge storyline later this year.
Charlie returned to the BBC One soap over a year ago and struck up a romance with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer).
In the recent weeks, a manipulative Janine has continued to try and unsuccessfully drive a wedge between Mick and his estranged wife Linda Carter. However, she will wave goodbye to the Square in a big storyline later this year.
Charlie returned to the soap a year and a half ago as evil and scheming Janine and soon got to work on Mick.
"I was only ever due back to EastEnders for a year, but when [exec producer] Chris Clenshaw presented me with his idea for the story, I couldn’t say no to staying a little longer," she told The Sun on Sunday, "I’ve had an amazing time, as I always do when I go back.
"But as always with Janine, she probably should not outstay her welcome - for everyone’s sake."
