EastEnders' Mick Carter makes big decision on Janine future after Linda showdown

EastEnders' Mick Carter has made a big decision about his future with Janine Butcher.

The pair - played by Danny Dyer and Charlie Brooks - have been getting close for weeks, with his estranged wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) further and further out of his mind as he tries to move on.

And now, following Linda's behaviour at Tina's funeral, Mick seems certain about where his future lies - ahead of his exit from the BBC One soap later this year in what he has teased as a "huge" storyline.

In tonight's episode, the fall out from the funeral continued as Mick was supported by Janine.

Linda finally revealed that it was Janine who got her back on the drink, having visited her where she working months ago and convincing her to start drinking again after her previous battles.

Janine lied to Linda about who she was, determined to bring her love rival down and split the pair up for good so she could have Mick all to herself and start focusing on their blossoming romance.

Following the fallout from Tina's death, Janine was there for Mick, helping him to cope with everything that had happened after it was revealed Gray Atkins had killed Tina and buried her body under the Arjee Barjee.

After the funeral, a wake was held at the pub with Mick and Janine sneaking upstairs to take a breather from everything that happened - but they were soon interrupted by a shouting Linda, who had crashed the party.

She then took aim at Mick, slamming him and Janine for their behaviour as she caused havoc at the celebration of Tina's life. Their daughter Nancy tried to step in but Janine continued to fume at Linda as Mick issued her a stinging statement.

"Why would I want to be with a drunk?" he told her angrily.

Later on, Mick was sat with Janine as he reflected on what had happened downstairs, as he leaned in and kissed her, before quickly pulling away. He told her: "We need to do this properly," as Janine muttered "of course" and moved away.

"I'm going to get my life in order with Linda," he promised her, "And then we can be a thing, if that's what you want."

Janine then replied back as she leant in to kiss Mick: "You know it is."
