EastEnders' Linda Carter took on long-time villain Janine Butcher on Thursday night, as a twist saw an exit U-turn on the BBC soap.
She refused to be threatened and mocked by her love rival any longer, after Janine's cruel plan to get her away from Walford, and away from her ex-husband Mick Carter.
Amid Janine's new romance with the character, she's recently felt threatened by Linda's return and her history with Mick.
So she sought a way of getting the alcoholic to leave the family for good, and it looked as though Linda was going to take it.
That was until she realised she could not leave her family behind, and Zack Hudson soon begged her not to break her daughter Nancy's heart.
Earlier in the week, Janine had offered to pay Linda £25,000 to leave, before she upped it to £50,000 and handed over the money.
So during the latest visit to Walford, she was annoyed to see Linda still hanging around as she showed up at the pub.
Linda was in fact saying saying a secret goodbye to Mick and Nancy, with her planning to flee that same day.
Zack realised this though and told her not to go, as Nancy would never get over it.
Later in the episode, Janine was seen talking to Mick in the pub having just returned - and she seemed very happy with how things were going.
As Mick ran upstairs with the kids, Janine looked puzzled as to who was covering the bar in his absence, only for Linda to step out.
Janine was horrified to see Linda still around and in the pub, as she asked why she had not left.
Linda then turned the tables on her and refused to hand over the money, but declared she was not leaving after all in a twist.
Janine demanded her money back before issuing threats, as Linda pretended she had no idea what she was talking about.
As Janine began raging at her she warned: "You are making a very big mistake. You don't know what you are dealing with here Linda."
Linda responded: "Why don’t you go upstairs and tell Mick you have paid the mother of his children £50,000 to leave and never see them again. I'll be down here, you tell me how it goes."
Janine then screeched: "Listen to me..." but Linda was having none of it, and made it clear she had nothing on her.
She said: "No you listen to me, I'm staying for good because there is nothing in this world that could make me leave my children, not 50 grand, not alcoholism and certainly not you. Now, have a lovely evening."
