EastEnders legend Patrick Trueman returns to Walford - but is hiding a big secret

Patrick Trueman is back in Walford next week... but it looks like he's hiding something from his loved ones.

The EastEnders legend, played by Rudolph Walker, left Albert Square to pursue his one true love Yolande, who he was married to back in 2004.

Yet when he arrives back at home, he's shocked to discover what's been going on with his family - including Denise's marriage hanging by a thread.

Stunned that no one has told him what's been happening, he's equally evasive when asked about his time with Yolande.

After hearing that Jack and Denise are at loggerheads after she took £500 from their joint account to pay for Kim's private counselling, he offers to help speak to Jack.

Patrick advises Jack to show Denise how much he loves her.

Later, Denise fields Howie's questions about Kim, prompting Patrick to worry that she's going to burn out as she tries to look after both of the families.

Jack arrives at Fox and Hair with a picnic lunch and bottle of prosecco to surprise Denise and force her to take a much-needed break. Denise is touched by his efforts.

Earlier in the week, Kim is incredibly anxious as she awaits her sentencing and despite Howie and Denise's attempts to reassure her, Kim is convinced that she'll go to prison.

Later at court, Denzel is nervous as he gives his statement but when the prosecution plays footage of the accident, Kim suffers a full-blown panic attack...

"She’s beside herself," actress Tameka Empson explains. "She really doesn’t want to go but she knows she has to do the right thing. Deep down there’s a feeling of ‘this could be it’ and she could go down for it.

"She’s trying to keep a brave face and she loves the fact that Denise is there – the Fox sisters through anything and everything! Denzel has been a real rock for Kim actually too. But she’s definitely very nervous and vulnerable. No Kim-ism will get her out of this, so she has to walk the walk."

*EastEnders airs Monday - Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
