EastEnders' Kim and Denise queued 14 hours to see the Queen lying-in-state.
During last night's episode, there was a mention of the monarch once again following her passing last month. In a chat with Karen Taylor, Kim revealed she and her sister Denise had queued in London to pay their respects to the monarch.
Following the Queen's passing, hundreds and thousands of people queued for hours on hours to see the monarch at Westminster Hall and Kim and Denise were part of that. Kim made the admission as she discussed her camera phone with Karen.
Speaking during last night's episode, Kim said: "You know what, me and Denise were queuing all throughout the night to see the Queen, yeah. I was filming material all the royal correspondents would have loved it."
Hundreds of thousands of people queued by the River Thames and into Southwark Park to pay tribute to the monarch. At some times, the queue was shut because it had reached capacity as everyone lined up to pay their respects to the Queen for her 70-year service.
As Kim admitted none of the footage had saved on her phone, Karen reminded her she was just lucky she got to queue and pay her respects to the monarch, who celebrated her Platinum Jubilee earlier this year.
Denise also starred in a special tribute to the monarch last month, as characters Linda Carter, Denise and Kathy Beale gathered around a picture of the monarch in the famous Queen Vic pub to discuss her "selfless" life of service.
As Linda, played by Kellie Bright, adjusted a picture of the Queen that was placed on the bar at the Queen Vic, Denise (Diane Parish) said: "God bless her, she’s been there our whole lives. It’s like she’s everything we’ve ever known."
Kathy, played by Gillian Taylforth, then replied: "Just feels so personal though, doesn’t it? Just devastating."
"It’s like we’ve lost our nan," Denise added, before Linda then chimed in to say: "Well, we have. I mean the country’s lost… we've all lost our nan. She dedicated her entire life to serving us." Kathy described her as selfless.
Denise then added: "We’ll never see anyone like her again," as Kathy recalled key moments of the Queen's reigning, sharing: "I was, what, three when she became Queen. I wish I could remember the coronation but, well, I’ve got other people’s memories."
"Do you remember the Silver Jubilee? I think I was eight or nine. I just remember I was so happy. I just remember everyone feeling so happy," Denise concluded as Kathy said: "Well that’s what she did, didn’t she, she made you feel so joyful and safe."
