EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth has teased a connection between Kathy's wedding day and the Christmas death.
In a special flashforward episode scene aired earlier this year, and set to take place this Christmas, the matriarchs of Walford - Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) - were seen standing around a dead body, which we know is a male character.
Kathy will tie the knot with Rocky next week, in a different wedding dress than she had originally planned. The dress she had planned to wear will be what Sharon wears this Christmas when disaster strikes on her wedding day.
Discussing the wedding dress change, she said: "I don’t really know, I just got told to wear this other wedding dress, so I don’t know the reason why I give it to her [Sharon], because I haven’t shot that, all will be revealed, so I don’t even know myself.
"I just know she has it and I have another one. But how Sharon gets it, you’ll find out before me probably!"
Gillian is glad she won't be wearing the wedding dress this Christmas in what will turn out to be a huge twist on Sharon's wedding day when the man is found dead. What happened to him remains a mystery.
She joked: "Definitely, I’m pleased about that! And my one’s very pretty!"
Speaking about being apart of the storyline, she shared: "Very excited. I thought what a wonderful idea it was. We were all quite inquisitive about what was going to happen, and who it was going to be, and all of us are still none the wiser!
"We we’re honoured as the six of us to be part of it and we were all looking forward to what awaits us, because it’s obviously a storyline in the future. We all sat there quite stunned and thought ‘wow this is going to be great’. I’m chuffed to be part of it."
She added: "The six of us get together and think ‘who do you think it is’, ‘who do you think it could be’, ‘what do you think is going to happen’ and we’ve picked our brains and gone through every single male member of the cast, but we can’t come up with the answer."
