EastEnders' Gray could pin crimes on scapegoat resident as he plots to dodge justice

As the walls continue to close in on EastEnders serial killer Gray Atkins, he looks set to become increasingly desperate - and could even pin his crimes on another resident in upcoming scenes.

This comes as the residents of Albert Square finally learn Gray killed Tina Carter and Chantelle Atkins next week, while Kush Kazemi's murder is still believed to have been an accident.

Tina's body was discovered buried under the Argee Bhajee when Phil Mitchell trashed the place, but Gray’s secrets had already begun to leak when Whitney Dean and Kheerat Panesar worked out Gray was likely behind Chantelle's murder, after uncovering she was a victim of domestic abuse.

The Carters are out for retribution after learning Gray murdered Tina in December 2020 after she found out he killed his wife Chantelle.

When news of Tina's death spreads, Whitney is certain Gray was behind it and tells her family Mick and Shirley.

With the walls closing in on Gray, he turns to the only person he can trust: Karen (BBC)

They, as well as others on the Square, are soon all out for revenge, and Gray is left trying to flee Walford.

BBC spoilers reveal that the drama coincides with the go-ahead from doctors that Gray and wife Chelsea can finally take little Jordon home from the hospital.

But Gray's mind quickly turns elsewhere, though, when DCI Arthurs asks to talk to him about Tina.

At the police station, Gray gives his DNA but questions why he is there and denies all involvement in Tina's death. Realising the police have little evidence, Gray refuses to answer any further questions and leaves.

On learning that Gray has been approached by the police, Mick and Shirley rush to his house, determined to find out what's going on.

Gray ups the emotion and fakes grief that Tina has died, even insisting he will try and help them where he can. But after learning some new information from Shirley, Gray panics and he plans his escape.

With the walls closing in on him, Gray turns to the only person he can trust: Karen. He manipulates Karen into believing he is not behind Tina’s death, blaming the murder on someone else.

Despite Whitney and Mick’s accusations, Karen refuses to believe it and protects Gray, hiding him in the flat.

As Karen continues to see the best in her former son-in-law and ignore Mitch’s warnings, can anything convince her that Gray is a murderer?

Or will he succeed in escaping justice by pinning the crime on someone else in his heartfelt outpouring to Karen?

And as police flood the Square and devastated residents look for revenge, how far will Gray go to dodge his comeuppance?
