EastEnders has produced some great talent over the years and now someone who shot to fame on EastEnders is returning to acting. Known for playing Grant Mitchell for nearly 10 years, Ross Kemp has carved out a career as a TV presenter but is about to make a drama comeback.
Ross starred on EastEnders from 1990 to 1999 and became part of the soap’s key storylines during the 1990s, particularly troubled marriages to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and then Tiffany Mitchell (Martine McCutcheon), as well as the "Sharongate" storyline, which saw brother Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) having an affair with Grant's wife, which was uncovered two years after it began. After leaving EastEnders, Ross began presenting and hosting his own TV documentaries including Ross Kemp on Gangs and Ross Kemp in Afghanistan.
Now Ross is returning to acting 15 years after his last acting job. He will be starring in the Channel 5 drama Blindspot, which will be a four-part drama. The 58-year-old will play Police Detective Tony Warden while newcomer Beth Alsbury will take the lead role of Hannah. Blindspot is the story of Hannah Quinn, a disabled woman with a wry sense of humour, who works monitoring the CCTV on a rough estate.

One day she sees a man she knows is a violent criminal lead a young woman into a blind spot in the camera coverage. He emerges alone but when the police arrive there is no sign of the woman, who appears to have vanished into thin air.
Hannah is convinced that she has been murdered, but her fears are dismissed by the apathetic, and possibly corrupt, policeman Tony in charge of the case. Hannah remains undeterred and will soon find her own life in danger as she fights to discover what really happened in the blind spot.
Ross is currently hosting his BBC One gameshow Bridge of Lies and his most recent documentary, Ross Kemp: Shipwreck Treasure Hunter aired on Sky History in 2022.
