EastEnders fans are convinced they've 'worked out' the identity of the Christmas killer.
In a first-of-its-kind flashforward scene, the six matriarchs of Walford - Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki ( Balvinder Sopal ) - were seen standing over a dead body. Nothing is known about who it is, or how their death came about, but we know it's a man - and the six have something to do with it.
Since the scene aired earlier this year, ahead of the big reveal at Christmas, fans have been desperate to know whose body it is.
Now fans are convinced they've cracked who the killer is this Christmas after spotting a telling clue in a scene in tonight's episode.
In the Queen Vic tonight, as they celebrated King Charles' Coronation, Karen disappeared and went to visit Suki, urging her to get Ravi and Nish to stand down and stop threatening them. She said she was fearful of the days she had left with Keanu and didn’t want them to all spend their time looking over their shoulder and wondering what might happen next.
Later, as the party continued in the pub to mark the Coronation, as well as for Sharon and Keanu's engagement, the arrival of Nish and Suki drew nervous glances from the group and Sharon and Keanu seemed less than happy to see their faces.
"I heard you didn’t feel you could celebrate without my permission," Nish said before handing them over a bottle of champagne before he warned: "Stick to what we said and no need for us to be at loggerheads."
Fans are now convinced that Linda will be the one to kill Nish, in support of Sharon and her love for Keanu - or the others might team up to help Suki get rid of Nish for good.
"two women [Sharon and Linda] who are absolutely gonna bring down Nish #EastEnders," one wrote, as a second added: "I can’t wait to see that smug smile wiped off Nish’s face. #Eastenders @bbceastenders."
A third shared: "Suki and Karen need to team up to take down Nish. Karen has been abused herself and knows that Chantelle was also abused. Suki is between a rock and a hard place at the moment with Nish and needs people on her side to bring him down including Eve Karen Stacey etc. #EastEnders."
Show boss Chris Clenshaw previously teased there were more clues in the Christmas flashforward scene that fans hadn't picked up on yet, sharing: "I’m not going to give anything away that the episode hasn’t already given, but what I will say is there were clues in there. Did you look closely? I urge everyone to re-watch the scene and look at every detail.
"There’s also a few treats in the scene if you look hard enough. What I’d also say is that a lot can happen in Walford between February and December – circumstances can change, relationships can change, loyalties can change – so what you may suspect now could be somewhat different as we make our way through 2023 and head towards Christmas."
