EastEnders' Gray Atkins was left surprised on the BBC One soap tonight - after receiving messages from his dead ex-wife Chantelle.
The serial killer murdered his ex-wife Chantelle Atkins after subjecting her to horrific domestic abuse during their relationship, and fans fear the same is going to happen to his new-wife Chelsea Fox.
In new scenes airing on tonight's episode, Gray has just about had enough of his work and slams the paperwork down, just as his computer beeps and a message appears in the bottom hand corner of his screen - leaving him horrified by the name attached to it.
"No time to reply to your dearly departed?" the message from his late ex Chantelle's email account reads.
Eve, who is sitting opposite him, asked him what was troubling him.
As he begins typing a response to the person, he said: "I'm being trolled, someone with a grudge is impersonating Chantelle. I don't know who it is, but I've had enough - I'll find out who they are."
However, Eve discouraged him from the idea, as she added: "A colleague of mine got trolled by her ex, and she retaliated by sending a picture of him handcuffed to the bed wearing a nappy to his entire contact list."
But Gray quickly snapped at her, and fumed: "It's not funny. Someone is pretending to be my dead wife!"
Eve tried to calm him down, as she told him the person behind it is "only trying to get a reaction", as Gray insisted he didn't need this right now with everything that was going on.
Later on, the mysterious tormentor - later revealed to be Kheerat - left an envelope on his doorstep, which had all the posts Chantelle had made in a domestic abuse forum about what Gray was doing to her.
Whilst Gray anxiously looked on, fans were thrilled to see his downfall begin.
"It's about time Gray finally started to feel/look nervous, anxious and scared!," one wrote, as a second penned online: "Gray is one step closer to being exposed and found out by kheerat # EastEnders."
A third wrote: "Gray your days are numbered. #EastEnders #enders," with a fourth writing on Twitter : "Now if that doesn’t get Gray shook and start to slip up I don’t know what will #EastEnders."
"Walford is finally onto you Gray. This is going to be a popcorn worthy takedown. #EastEnders," a fifth shared.
