EastEnders viewers have joked Mick Carter is "back from the dead", and that his whereabouts have finally been revealed.
Fans of the character and the BBC soap saw a new trailer for Danny Dyer's gripping next role, and quipped that Mick was "alive".
Christmas Day 2022 saw the much-loved character seemingly killed off, as he appeared to drown after a showdown with Janine Butcher.
He is currently presumed dead and lost at sea, while no body has been found but the search has been called off.
His wife Linda Carter is grieving for her lost love and is coming to terms with the fact the love of her life is likely dead.
Actor Danny quit the soap, and departed in scenes last year - while he's about to appear in a new Channel 5 drama called Heat.
As the channel released a dark new trailer for the drama on their official Twitter page, EastEnders fans couldn't help but joke about the fact Mick is "back".
Seeing Danny film in Australia, they quickly joked that this was Mick's whereabouts and that he probably swam there after his final scenes.
In the clip, Danny's character is heard asking where his wife is and viewers hilariously commented as if he was referring to Linda.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Woah i can’t believe he swam all the way to Australia."
Another agreed: "Gawd, he's in Australia? must've been a hard swim x."
A third viewer said: "'WHERE’S MY WIFE' omg micks memory has come back sooner than we all thought."
The comments kept on coming too, with another reading: "Your wife is in Walford mate," as a fifth said: "She’s in The Vic waiting for you…?"
A sixth viewer joked: "Mick’s 'back from the dead'."
It comes amid a new murder twist on the BBC soap, with fans speculating it could somehow lead to a return for Mick.
There will be a brutal murder it seems on Christmas Day this year, as a flashforward to this day revealed a male character dies - and there are currently six suspects.
Stacey Slater, Denise Fox, Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter are seen in shock as a mystery man lays dead on the floor.
With several of them injured or covered in blood, and one even holding a possible weapon, it's been teased one of the women are the killer.
Fans are speculating who the male victim might be, with many predicting it's someone not currently on screen.
