EastEnders has concealed the fate of killer Gray Atkins, following a violent attack that has left him fighting for his life on the BBC soap.
At the start of Tuesday night's episode, Gray's wife Chelsea Fox returned home to find a lifeless Gray on the floor, with his head in a pool of blood.
She then spotted Kheerat Panesar beside him and worked out he was behind it, before doing the unthinkable.
Chelsea didn't listen to Kheerat's pleas that it was an accident, and confirmed his name as the attacker as if he had deliberately tried to kill him.
Kheerat told her she could be free, following Gray recently attacking her, amid his plan to expose Gray's crimes.
Gray lured him into a trap and tried to silence him, after becoming aware that he knew what he'd done to his wife Chantelle Atkins.
Fearing his killer secret was about to be exposed, ahead of the discovery of Tina Carter's body, he attacked Kheerat with him forced to fight back.
After a struggle Gray fell to the floor and hit his head, with Kheerat fearing he had killed him.
Kheerat is now on the run after attacking him in self-defence, with Stacey Slater shown helping him flee at the end of the episode.
Gray could finally face justice, with his dark crimes including the murders of Chantelle, Tina and Kush Kazemi, finally set to come to light.
But for now, it was Kheerat's words against Chelsea's, with Gray unconscious and his fate not known.
As the episode went on, the police confirmed they did not know how he was and if he was alive, as they were waiting to be updated.
The police focused on their search for missing Kheerat, who was hiding out at Stacey's house.
As the episode ended, there was still no news of Gray and Kheerat was shown escaping in the boot of Stacey's car, as she drove him out of Walford.
But will Gray live to tell the tale, and will he set up Kheerat?
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
