EastEnders airs HUGE Cindy v Jane confrontation tonight!

EastEnders Jane Beale and Cindy Beale.

*This article contains spoilers for tonight's (Tuesday, July 16) episode of EastEnders on BBC iPlayer and is yet to air on TV*

EastEnders airs the confrontation we've all been waiting for tonight as Cindy Beale comes face to face with Jane - the woman who covered up her daughter's murder.

In last night's episode we saw Cindy and George head off to the address on Ian's sat-nav, determined to find out who he was spending time with.

Meanwhile Peter - who knew exactly where his dad was going - and stowaway Bobby were hot on their heels, in Martin's van.

Jane is Bobby's adopted mum. While Bobby was the one who killed his sister Lucy, it was Jane who covered up his crime, moving Lucy's body to Walford Common so Bobby wouldn't be a suspect.

So as soon as we discovered it was Jane who Ian was seeing, EastEnders fans knew the confrontation between Jane and Cindy would be a big one!

And it's definitely not a disappointment.

In tonight's episode, Cindy is horrified to see Jane and immediately flies off the handle, accusing Ian of having an affair with the woman who moved their daughter's body.

Jane explains that she wants to rebuild her relationship with Bobby and find out how his life is going, now he's almost 21.

And it's at that moment Bobby and Peter walk in, having heard what Jane says.

With tempers frayed, Jane tries to persuade Bobby that she wants to get to know him.

But Cindy's having none of it.

"She carried my daughter's dead body and dumped her on the common," she says and demands to go home.

But George manages to talk Cindy into staying to hear what Jane has to say.

"Maybe there's things you want to ask her," he suggests.

Over an awkward dinner of pizza and salad, the women snap at one another, until Ian brings up how supportive he's been of Cindy getting to know her girls again.

"How is that different?" he asks.

"Because none of them murdered one of our children," shrieks Cindy.

And that's when the gloves really come off. As the women argue - and exchange a slap! - Bobby's getting more anxious.

When Jane reveals that Bobby is the only child she'll ever have because Cindy's son Steven shot her and made her infertile, there is a shocked silence from Cindy.

Which is when Bobby steps in - and the real showdown takes place!

He reveals that no one has asked if he is happy. "I still get anxious all the time," he admits. "I don't allow myself to have too good of a time because I don't deserve it."

And then he says the words that leave Jane devastated.

"I'm sorry Jane," he says. "I agree with Cindy. What you did that night, I still don't understand it. So I'm sorry I don't think I want to have you back in my life."

He leaves and Peter follows.

But his harsh words calm Cindy down and she and Jane end up having a heart to hear, with Cindy telling her that her daughters didn't want to know her at first.

"I'm really sorry about Steven," Cindy says.

"I'm so very, very sorry about Lucy," Jane adds. "It's the biggest regret of my life."

So it seems Jane and Cindy have managed to bury the hatchet - for now at least. But what about Bobby?

Can Jane rebuild her relationship with her son?
