Protesters who blocked the Port Tunnel on Monday have said it is "just a small taste of what's to come" as they plan to hold similar demonstrations three days a week for the foreseeable future.
The group known as the East Wall Protest Committee have been holding the demonstrations over the use of the former ESB building to house asylum seekers. They are calling for the centre to be closed completely despite Minister Roderic O'Gorman saying that is not an option.
The group have said that they will be protesting the use of the building every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until further notice "or until the Provision centre is closed down". A letter issued on social media last night said they "extend our deepest apologies to those who have been affected by delays and backlog".

They are also urging people across Ireland to take part in protest and "take to the streets". The letter urged people who have an issue with the protests to contact Ministers Roderic O'Gorman and Paschal Donohoe.
It said: "Protests will escalate nationwide if this government doesn't close this centre in its entirety. We welcome all participants, citizen journalists and observers but political messaging such as speeches and banners etc will during our protests will be rejected by East Wall residents.
"We are not a platform for point scoring votes or virtue signalling. This is a real community with real people who simply ask for supporters as we face down this government."
