East Lothian police hunt 'three men in black' after car snatched from driveway

Police have appealed for information after a car was snatched from a driveway overnight in East Lothian.

Officers have said they are investigating reports of 'three men in black' who were seen in the area before the vehicle was stolen in Musselburgh.

Taken in the early hours of Saturday, October 15, on Clayknowes Place, the group are thought to have arrived at the property at around 3.30am.

In an appeal on Sunday, police shared that enquiries into the theft have shown that three men, wearing all black, had been acting suspiciously nearby at the time of the incident.

The stolen vehicle, a blue Ford Fiesta (J200 FOR), is yet to be located.

Constable Craig Wilkinson, from Musselburgh Police Station, said: “I’m appealing for anyone with information on this incident, if you believe you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or may have seen the stolen vehicle, to please come forward.

“You can contact police on 101, quoting incident 1135 of 15 October, 2022. Or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
