Police in East Lothian have launched an investigation after a child was reportedly molested in a local woodland.
Officers have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which took place on the grounds of Newhailes House near Musselburgh today (July 14).
Reported to the authorities shortly after 11.40am, police have said they are looking to speak with a young blonde woman they believe may aid the investigation. Anyone else with information regarding the alleged assault has been urged to contact 101 as soon as possible.

Inspector David Hughes, from Musselburgh Police Station, said: “Around 11.40am on Thursday, 14 July, 2022, police received a report of an alleged assault in the Newhailes area.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police, quoting incident 1115 of 14 July.
“Officers are keen to speak with a woman described as around 18-years-old, with blonde hair in a ponytail, wearing a black Adidas top, black leggings and black trainers.
"It is believed this woman may have information which could assist our enquiries.”
