East Lothian is set to experience a premier Enchanted Festival this Christmas season, and the opening day is just around the corner.
According to organisers, the festival will be a “celebration of all things festive and bright.”
“Beautiful Balgone Estate will be transformed into a winter wonderland each evening from 4pm, with a light trail around the lake all set to festive music. Discover amazing scenes, glittering with thousands of colourful lights, amongst the trees and stop off at the Snowy Cabin to toast marshmallows,” Enchanted Festival organisers said.

The event has been organised by the team behind the popular Foodies Festival, and it will be held at East Lothian’s Balgone Estate.
The Estate is just two miles outside of North Berwick, and the festival will take place in the shadow of the extinct volcanic profile of Berwick Law. Enchanted Festival opens on December 2 and runs over the first three weekends of December.
The Festival will feature a sparkling light trail around the lake, Santa’s Grotto, fairground rides, Christmas crafts, street food and opportunities to meet animals.
“At the fairground you can ride the Santa Train, Snowman Wipeout, Winter Waltzer, Astroslide, explore the Frozen Castle, bounce on Candy Cane Bungee Trampolines and try the I'm a Celebrity Jungle Challenge. Kids will love the pony rides and the chance to hang out with cute donkeys,” organisers teased.
Parents are encouraged to book tickets to see Santa at his Grotto during the event, and children can also post their letters to Santa at the special Express Post Box to the North Pole.
Masterclasses will also run throughout the day, giving kids the opportunity to try biscuit decorating and bauble and Christmas card making. Adults can also attend wreath making classes and enjoy festive wine and cocktails.
The Festival is also taking donation for its charity partner, Children’s Hospice Association Scotland . Visitors will be able to donate to CHAS when they purchase tickets, or buy a ribbon to make a wish at the Magical Wishing Tree.
CHAS offers full family support for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and donations will go towards supporting families they face the toughest challenge of their lives.
