“It was amazing,” exclaimed Molly. “It was definitely one of my first bigger more substantial TV jobs. I’d done an episode of Doctors but nothing on this scale.”
“As soon as I met everybody and got started it was really good fun and they were all brilliant to work with” and “It was really, really exciting.”
Molly said that her dad, the local postman in North Berwick “honked his horn with delight” when he heard that she had got the part.
The Rig is a six-part thriller set on an oil rig in the North Sea just off the coast of Scotland and when all communications go down on the oil platform the crew are faced with an unknown dangerous fog.
Molly plays, Heather Shaw a new recruit who is part of the main team on the oil rig and finds herself working hard to become accepted by the crew in a male dominated environment.
“I had my eye on it but definitely at no stage along the process was I thinking; Ohh I’ll get this because you don’t expect bigger jobs but when I got offered it, I was buzzing!”
“It’s really cool that it is actually out there in the world because we filmed it coming up to two years ago.”
"I’m just really excited that people can finally watching it.”
Molly recently was cast as Jean Laidlaw in the TV Series, War Games and later this year will be showcased in a docu/drama on Sky History.
All six of the episodes of The Rig are now available to watch on the streaming platform, Amazon Prime and was released on 6 January.
