East Kilbride rail services were suspended over Easter weekend after a man was hit by a train.
Emergency services were alerted to reports of a casualty on the tracks near Pollokshaws West station in the South Side of Glasgow at around 10.30pm on Saturday night.
Mercy crews, including British Transport Police officers and Scottish Ambulance Service medics, rushed to the scene.
Sadly, the man could not be saved and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Officials say the man's death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be sent by BTP to the Procurator Fiscal.
A number of ScotRail services were initially suspended as a result of the incident, including journeys from Glasgow Central to East Kilbride, Barrhead and Kilmarnock.
Bus replacements were organised for stranded travellers. Train services have since resumed.
