A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries following an alleged assault by three men in the early hours of this morning.
Detectives say they received a report that a man had been assaulted in East Belfast sometime between 1am and 2am in the Beersbridge Road area of the city.
The victim is said to have sustained serious head and facial injuries in the incident, including a suspected broken jaw, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into this vicious assault and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or who may have dashcam, CCTV or other video footage, to contact us on 101, quoting reference 275 of 13/1/23."
