Eamonn Homes has said Phillip Schofield has 'finally been caught out' but is 'not the only guilty party' over his affair.
Phil, 61, admitted that he was involved in an affair with a younger male ITV employee before announcing he has quit ITV for good. It comes as the former This Morning host revealed that he had previously lied about the relationship.
In a lengthy statement, Phil issued an apology to everyone, including his family, for the affair, as well as saying sorry for lying in the press when approached previously. "I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning. Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over", he said.
And now former colleagues have broken their silence on the matter, with fellow ex This Morning host Eamonn Holmes sharing a Tweet, reports the Mirror.
The 64-year-old, who previously hosted the morning talk show with his wife Ruth Langsford, blasted the presenter after learning about important new information about our client Phillip Schofield".
He wrote: "Schofield has finally been caught out ... But he's not the only guilty party. 4 high members of Itv management knew what sort of man he was ...and NEVER once took action to prevent him controlling or taking advantage of his position over young people."
It is not the first time Eamonn has shared views on Phillip after he aired his criticism as Schofield announced his decsision to step down from This Morning last week.
During Monday's GB News, Eamonn discussed the reported "feud" between Phil and co-host Holly Willoughby.
Talking to co-host Isabel Webster he said: "Holly knows the truth, the story is with her."
Following the chat, Isabel confirmed that Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were to host the next This Morning show, adding: "All of this comes after the big announcement from Phillip Schofield that he was stepping down..."
Interrupting, Eamonn remarked: "Please, let's stop this, he was sacked."
"All this nonsense about, 'I've decided to step down' I'm sure you did," he sarcastically continued. "Now here's your P45, now step down. Why do we propagate this language? 'I've decided to step down' and [Holly] says the couch won't feel the same without him people there. Well she wanted him not there, so why is she moaning about the couch not feeling the same for? They deserve each other."
And there are many other celebrities who have shared their reaction following the admission.
Piers Morgan tweeted: "Blimey..." with a shocked emoji as he re-shared a tweet about the news.
Vanessa Feltz was actually live on GB news alongside guest Nigel Pauley when the news broke.
Nigel suggested the statement meant that there could be more "revelations and some more negativity coming out."
"If an agent drops someone and uses the words honesty and integrity, that's not good," he said.
Feltz remained composed during the chat as she nodded along with the discussion.
