Eamonn Holmes was flooded with both compliments and supportive comments - including from Alison Hammond - as he posted a fresh update on his chronic pain battle.
The GB News star didn't have the easiest end to 2022 after he suffered a horror fall during recovery from a back operation. Eamonn underwent surgery after years of battling chronic pain as a result of slipped discs.
But shortly after the operation, he suffered a fall and the accident left him with a fractured shoulder and out of work for four months. Eamonn was then hit by further heartbreak wjem his beloved mum, Josie, had died in November and he was unable to attend her funeral.
Speaking about his mum's death for the first time last week, Eamonn said that Josie, who was two weeks away from her 92nd birthday when she passed away, and the rest of the family knew she had little time left and that he told her that his mobility issues meant he would be unable to attend the funeral.
The 63-year-old told the Daily Mail: "That was a terrible low. It was just inconceivable being Irish Catholic that you wouldn't be carrying your mother's coffin." That job fell to his siblings, with whom he remains close. 'We're not the Waltons, but we're tight."
Eamonn also recalled the moment his wife and fellow TV star Ruth Langsford found him after his fall last year with blood pouring out his mouth due to him slashing his lip on his way down several stairs "Blood was pouring out my mouth, and a bone was sticking out my shoulder," he told the publication.
"Ruth came rushing down the stairs. She kept saying, 'You're fine, everything's okay, you're fine.' I said, 'Ruthie, there is a bone sticking out of my shoulder - I'm not fine.'"
The former This Morning host has now issued a bit of an update on his recovery, weeks after returning to work on the GB News breakfast show he hosts with Isabel Webster. Sharing a selfie to Instagram on Saturday (January 28), Eamonn wrote: "Up to 4 days on GB News Breakfast from this week.
"Off to the gym to keep building my strength and mobility. Don't know why I'm smiling!!!! Pushing myself hard trying to make my legs respond. Wish me luck." The post was quickly flooded with comments with S Club 7 star Jo O'Mera, who Eamonn has credited for her support, said: "You got this."
Meanwhile, This Morning presenter Alison replied: "You look so young," which was soon echoed by others. @janinehall9 replied: "@alisonhammond55 i was just about to say the same." @imcancerfree said: "Good Lord Eamonn Holmes you are looking a lot younger.. looking really well all considering."
