Eamonn Holmes has hit out at a fan who accused him of spearheading a "witch hunt" against Phillip Schofield as the alleged This Morning row rumbles on. Eamonn, who appeared on the daytime ITV show for many years alongside wife Ruth Langsford, has given his two pence on the alleged "cooling" of friendship between current stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
In a recent slamming, Eamonn claimed that Holly and Phil, who have presented the show together since Holly joined back in 2009, should have won an accolade at the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday night (May 14) for their "acting" skills. In addition to this, Fern Britton, who Phil admitted to arguing with when they presented This Morning together, caused rumours to swirl when she posted a cryptic tweet about a phone call she randomly received from Eamonn.
Now, Eamonn has defended himself after a fan confronted him online. The GB News broadcaster shared a snap of himself at an airport as he spoke about his "additional needs" after his recent health issues.

Commenting on the photo, one of Eamonn's followers wrote: "I am a huge fan of you Eamonn and will continue to be. I just wish you hadn't jumped in on the Phil and Holly witch-hunt. Maybe I don't know it all, but I hate to see you trading insults."
Hitting back at the fan, Eamonn bluntly replied: "I think I have a lot more insight than u Lorraine."
During his GB News show earlier this week, Eamonn gave his thoughts on the This Morning crisis. "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors," he said.
"They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.
"It's an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there's no difference between whether they present it or anyone else."
Eamonn and Loose Women anchor Ruth were "dropped" from This Morning in 2021 in favour of Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond. Meanwhile, Holly and Phil have been heavily scrutinised for some time following the "Queuegate" scandal of September last year, which saw them accused of skipping the day-long queue to pay their respects to the late Queen at Westminster Hall while she was lying in state.
A source told The Sun that it is "highly unlikely" Phil will return to the This Morning sofa in September after his contract expires in the summer, with Holly reportedly feeling "trapped" as a result of their supposed feud. It is thought that their friendship "cooled" as a result of Phil's absence from the show during his brother's court case, with an unexpected statement from the presenter addressing the rumours reportedly making things worse.
