Green Party leader Eamon Ryan has called a mock-up clip on Russian state TV showing a nuclear weapon wiping out Ireland “disturbing” and “a disgrace.”
Minister Ryan also indicated the Russian ambassador in Dublin, Yury Filatov, will be hauled in over it.
The clips were broadcast by the State-owned television channel Russia-1 and introduced by Dmitry Kiselyov, a close associate of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Speaking on his way into Cabinet on Tuesday, Minister Ryan said he is looking forward to what Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney has to say about the clip.
He said: “it is disturbing, it’s on state television in Russia with the presenter who is said to be close to the (Russian) Government.
